I've upgraded to B550 with 3900X since posting this (kept the same Stix 1070Ti GPU), but nothing changed regarding the monitor not booting during post/bios something like 4/5 times and waking up from sleep a bit slower than it should, but at least in Windows 10 I no longer get messed up desktop icons when that happens, so it does not bother me that much now. But that is strange as I never had that issue with my old monitor. It seems like it has something to do with the mobo BIOS first booting to HDMI instead of DP, so the GPU just does not give the signal for the monitor to turn on (or something like that). I found a lot of people complaining about this same issue online. Must be a fault with the monitor's DP interface. #ASUS PB278Q AUDIO NOT WORKING AFTER UPGRADING NEW PARTS UPDATE#UPDATE June 25: upgraded to FE 3060Ti, issue still present. I'll be upgrading to Zen3 or 3900X (already started buying some parts but will keep the 1070Ti for a bit longer) and will use Win10 with the new system, but the fact that the monitor randomly does not react to bios post makes me think that it's not an OS issue. connected the DP cable to the other port on GPU yesterday and after the initial test boot up everything one fine, but this morning the monitor did not wake up until desktop again, though the desktop icons and app windows kept their places.Īnyone know what is going on? The problems started only after getting the new monitor. tried setting the monitor to DisplayPort Steam version 1.1 instead of 1.2, but it did not help one morning the monitor woke up only when the system booted to desktop and the icons and Steam window were out of place again decided that the cable might be bad so swapped it with the old regular DP one and did not experience the symptoms for maybe 3 days and thought that it will be fine now thinking that the culprit was the DPI settings, I went back to 100% but that did not fix anything everything was fine, but I found that the text is a bit too small for my liking so I decided to set the Windows DPI to 125% and that's when the described issues started at first I have connected the monitor from the same DP port on the GPU as the old one via the included miniDP cable Previous monitor that gave me 0 issue for 10 years: HP ZR24w. #ASUS PB278Q AUDIO NOT WORKING AFTER UPGRADING NEW PARTS DRIVERS#Tried 4 different GPU driver versions, updated display drivers with the ones from Asus website. My specs: Win7 64bit, Z87 Asus Gryphon, i7 4770k, Asus ROG Strix 1070 Ti, Corsair 650TX, 32GB Kingston RAM, Samsung 830 OS drive, etc. I keep Steam in the middle of the screen and narrow just to fit the store page, but it ends up either pushed to the left side or expanded to take up the whole screen, qBittorrent ends up in the top left corner and at min size instead of the middle of the screen and the size I set for it. some applications end up messed up, i.e. sometimes all the desktop icons get randomly rearranged after booting up or waking from sleep mode (either just a few icons get out of place or all of them end up in the default positions on the left side of the desktop) the monitor sometimes only turns on after the PC boots to desktop (stays off during post and Windows startup) I've upgraded to the 27" PA278QV ~10 days ago and been having weird issues with it:
